We had a busy but really nice day today.
We went to Petsmart as usual and practiced us walking up to and by the other
dogs without Sox "breaking" across me (she cannot cross the middle line of
my body trying to get to or sniff the other dog). There were a LOT of dogs

We just got back from our morning walk. It's SO beautiful outside and Sox now walks with me in such a wonderful way. We're getting to that point that Cesar talks about - when you're walking with a dog it should feel like you're not walking with a dog :)

Today I noticed that Sox seems to respond to me faster if I speak to her in a lighter tone of voice. When we were working at Petsmart tonight she was very focused on me and her whole body language was that of relaxation and happiness, even though we were "working".

I have been blessed to get to take the Delta Society's class on becoming a Pet Partner team! This is awesome!
The classes run through May, then the evaluation for both Sox and me is in June. When we pass, we will be registered as a therapy dog team!

We went off leash the whole way, even by the "dog gauntlet" - lol. I noticed
that when we walked by those yards, she didn't miss a beat, even though they
were running and barking. She stayed right by my side and her ears were back
- not up! Good girl!
